G-SSBS, Colting 77A. CN 010. Built by The Colting Balloon Company in 1978. 280 hrs. EASA CofA but annual inspection expired. 32-gore envelope, originally built in a lightweight crispy fabric, weighs about 82kg, comes with its original blue and yellow vinyl 'Colt 77' branded envelope bag and CAA CAP 408 Aircraft Log Book. Minor repairs done and the 'fluff' on the Velcro changed in 2009. The ARC and IR4 expired on 6 April 2009 and due to weakness in the parachute edge and possibly other fabric it is doubtful that the envelope would pass a grab test without work being done. G-SSBS is a great piece of flying history and what we believe to be the oldest Colting Balloons built example still in existence that carries a G-mark and certainly the oldest current UK-registered example.
